A DTX Telecommunications CAT5E network is a healthy mix of high performance and low cost.
Utilising high quality connecting hardware and cable, the CAT5E network will exceed the latest industry specifications (EN50173, ISO 11801 and EIA568B) for components and channel performance for category 5E (Class D) cabling systems.
For situations such as temporary premises, an investment in high speed cabling such as category 6 may not be cost effective, as category 5E systems are currently 15-20% more economical whilst still providing ample bandwidth for many of today’s applications.
With a CAT5E network installed by DTX Telecommunications, the corporate infrastructure will have the capability to handle today’s higher bandwidth requirements such as Gigabit Ethernet. The advent of Gigabit Ethernet has spelt the end of category 5 as its specifications cannot cope with the demands of such high bandwidths. Consequently, standards for category 5E (Class D) are now in place and need to be followed if the cabling system is to provide the necessary return on investment. A DTX CAT5E network is therefore ideally placed to avoid the need for unnecessary and expensive upgrades over the lifetime of a cabling infrastructure.
